The Grand Challenges Summit will be held at the Marriott Residence Inn, with various meetings and events across the street on the MIT campus. Directions to each space will be indicated in packets given to participants upon arrival in Cambridge.
Transportation from the airport
- Taxis, easily found at the airport
- Public Transportation, the hotel is a short walk from the Kendall T station.
Bus Rapid Transit: Silver Line outbound which connects directly with the Redline at South Station, MIT and the hotel are at Kendall Square station.

Free Wifi will be freely available to participants at all Summit locations.
MIT Mobile app is available for both Android and Apple devices, and the MIT interactive campus website is also available.
Out of pocket costs & travel regulations
The following out of pocket costs incurred by attendees will be reimbursed: Taxi/Uber/Lyft/Public Transportation to and from the airport, itemized meal receipts, plane, train, mileage in a personal vehicle, or the cost of a rental to drive to Cambridge, MA.
If attendees utilize an alternative hotel, the cost will not be reimbursed. If attendees utilize the conference hotel for days unrelated to Summit activities, the cost will not be supported by the Summit. Attendees are invited to make use of the conference hotel for dates unrelated to Summit activities at their own discretion.
